Queen of Peace for 2010

Our Lady Queen of Peace, originally uploaded by Edith OSB.

Our Chapel was built in the midst of great upheavals all across Europe as the threat – the likelihood – of war was evident to all. It was dedicated to Our Lady under her title of Queen of Peace because that peace was the focus of so many prayers around the world.

Every morning, the sun rises over Lake Superior and illuminates the great stained glass window – now part of the college library with the Chapel moved below – to renew the hope, the desire, and the willingness to work for peace in each of us.

May 2010 bring many blessings, and may we receive them with hearts ready to nurture them into their fullness.
